Every year on the third weekend of July, Žagarė becomes the most famous and noisiest town in Lithuania, because it is the only place where the original Žagarė Cherry Festival takes place! During the days of the festival, Žagarė fills up with guests, music, scarecrows in the most unexpected places and, of course, the aroma of cherries.

In 2024, the 20th Žagarė Cherry Festival will take place from 18-21 July. During the festival, the traditional market will be buzzing in the town square of Naujoji Žagarė, the town will welcome guests with scarecrows, and the festival's main stage will host a host of well-known Lithuanian music stars, such as Kastytis Kerbedis, Linas Adomaitis, Saulius Prūsaitis, GJan, Gabriele Vilkickytė, Poliarizuoti stiklai, Oleg Ditkovskis and Saulius Bareikis, Ten Walls and other surprise performances. Education, exhibition openings and cozy concerts will be scattered in various spaces of Žagarė.
